  • 8002 LCA (Landing Craft, Assault)
    The LCA(Landing Craft, Assault) is the equivalent of LCVP in Royal Navy and was developped during the 30's. They had two engines with a crew of four and a capacity of 35 troops or 800lb cargo. Armament consisted of a Bren Light Machine Gun.The LCA was carried aboard larger ships and lowered into the sea by davits.
    This craft was initially used during the Norway campaign to carry French legionnaires to Narvik and later during landings at Dieppe, Operation Torch, Sicily and Commando raidson french coast. During Operation Overlord 486 LCAs were used to carry British troops and US rangers on famous assault at the "Pointe du Hoc".

    In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of D-DAY, Fonderie Miniatures offers a limited reissue of 100 kits of LCA model.
    Kit contains about 70 parts in plastic with hull molded in 1 piece and detailed interior; chandlery includes 16 parts finely cast in resin.
    Doors and Landing ramping can be displayed open. decal sheet includes decoration for 1 ship.
