AFV issue 27 contains,
Pages 2-9 German Art
by Javier Redondo Martinez – 1/35.
Interesting diorama with Wespe Models (a Russian manufacturer) Marmon-Herrington
armoured car (Mk III) as the feature having been captured by the Germans. The
kit looks like it needs a lot of work.
Two figures from Verlinden and one the spares box on a simple desert base.
Page 10-17 Shermanski
by Glen Bowen – 1/35.
Simple build and presentation of the Dragon M4A2 (76) as used by the Russians.
Nicely done using the Tristar Russian AFV crew set. Unnecessarily green episcopes
on the Sherman.
Page 18-27 Intimate Support
by Jason Bobrowich – 1/35.
Canadian Army Leopard set on exercise with Canadian infantry in support. Very
effective setting with a few modern figure targets on the base.
Page 28-39 Hot H
by Martin Smith – 1/35.
Stunning scratch build using the Tamiya Marder kit for the bare base and fabricating
the rest of the Grille Ausf H on it. Great detail and skill, more construction
pic’s would have been useful. Single figure, vehicle on a plain base.
Page 40-49 Xtreme detail, The M5A1 Stuart.
Photographs by David Doyle from the Aberdeen proving grounds collection. 62
close shots of the M5A1 Stuart from a couple of vehicles in collections.
Very nice external details shots, basic captions. Good interior shots showing
turret and hull details – good 37mm gun breach information.
Page 50-56, Keeping Track – product highlights of recent AFV or AFV accessory releases.
Page 56-64 Digital Imagination.
The results of the photographic competition are shown. Something different,
the winner was a JS III.
The issue continues the excellent trend of this magazine with more excellent modelling and reference material.
Highly recommended.
