52 pages, 157 color photos, 4 color plates, 6 1/35 scale plans

This book follows on to an earlier Concord book, BMP Infantry Combat Vehicle (#1006) that was first published back in 1990. It features the latest versions of Russia's BMP infantry combat vehicles, with main focus on the BMP-3.

It is equipped with a 30mm auto-cannon, but with a 100mm rifle low pressure gun that can fire high explosive projectiles and guided antitank missiles. There are probably less than a hundred BMP-3s in Russian service today but it is a popular export item, a total of 576 have been ordered by UAE, Cyprus, Kuwait and South Korea.

The first 15 pages feature the BMP-2 and show some of the specialized vehicles built on the BMP-2 chassis with some interesting shots of the Indian license built "Sarath"

The remaining 37 pages are devoted to the BMP-3 and include some great photos of the UAE BMP-3s serving in Kosovo as part of KFOR, as well as South Korean, Cypriot and Russian BMP-3s. There are seven pages of extreme close-up interior and exterior photos all in colour.

Also featured in nice colour photos are BMP-3s wearing a reactive armour package and Arena Active Defense System. Six side profile 1/35th plans are included for these and others vehicles. Other vehicles featured are the Vena 120mm Self-Propelled Mortar, Missile Tank Destroyer with the Kornet antitank missile plus engineer vehicles on the BMP-3 chassis

In all an excellent reference on the BMP-3 and a must-have for Russian armour fans.
