This issue is broken into six sections as follows.
AIFV (pages 1-7)
Just the thing for the new AFV Club kit the photos are all in colour and are
semi-close general shots that give good overall coverage of the AIFV.
LVT(A)-1/LVT(A)-4 (pages 8-11)
This is a short series of colour photos of the -1 and -4 on training exercises.
Type90 ARV in action (pages12-16)
Another short section of colour photos of the Type90 ARV performing an engine
change on a Type90 MBT. The photos show some good details of the power pack
before and during the engine change.
Flame-thrower tanks of WWII (pages 17-77)
This extensive section with half text (in Japanese) and half photos is
broken into five sub-sections, Part 1 covers German vehicles starting with
a brief mention
of the
PzKpfw
I (Flamm)
followed
by 8
pages
on the PzKpfw II (Flamm) with wartime photos and 4 view 1/35 plans. Next
is 4 pages with wartime photos of the Char B1/2 in German service and 8 pages
covering the PzKpfw III (Flamm) again with wartime photos plus some detail
shots of the internal piping for the fuel feed lines. Finally there
is 8 pages on the SdKfz 251/16 with some action shots plus side view 1/35
plans plus internal detail shots of the fuel system and piping as well as
some diagrams of the fuel systems, firing units and shields.
Part 2 is on US vehicles with a few photos of the M3A1, M5A1 and LVT flamethrowers.
The next 6 pages are of the various Sherman vehicles including a few shots
of the internal hull fittings.
Part 3 is two pages on the L3Lf followed by Part 4 on Russian vehicles.
There are internal line drawings and photos of the OT-26 and OT-130 plus
single shots of the OT-34-76, KV-1 and KV-8 vehicles.
Part 5 deals with British flamethrowers with a few photos of the Wasp plus
4 pages on the Crocodile with some good internal and external shots of the
fuel line fittings followed by a couple of shots of the Matilda.
SA-2 (pages 78-97)
There are many action photos of the SA-2 on the ground mount plus some being
carried on the Zil-157 truck. The action shots are mainly of Russian missiles
on training exercise but there are some from Vietnam giving some views
of the cam on the missiles and the truck markings. Some of the photos are
semi-close up are provide interesting details of the missile.
LVT Series (3) (pages 98-141)
The third in the LVT series covers the LVT(A)-1, LVT(A)-4 and LVT(A)-5 with
a mixture of wartime action photos plus 1/48 plans of the three vehicles.
There are also some good close up detail shots on the -5 including turret
interior as well as exterior shots of the hull and suspension.
Another excellent issue.
