The second figure, #35021 is a German Paratrooper standing in a relaxed pose and consists of six pieces cast cleanly in a light grey resin which only requires the usual casting blocks to be removed and some minor casting seams from the insides of the legs, but watch here as there are also trouser seams so don’t mistake these when cleaning them up.
The figure has the full body as a single casting with separate arms and
now familiar two alternate heads plus separate hands with the right hand
holding a G43 rifle plus alternate left hands, one holding a stick grenade
and the other a Panzerschreck rocket which are cast with the hands included
for a natural grip.
This choice will allow you to use the figure on its own or as a loader with
figure 35020 and is a nice inclusion
and the detail on the rifle is also very well done and is an excellent representation
which only requires the addition
of the rifle sling to finish off.
The facial features are superb and will make the painting easy with very
well propertied hands that add to the overall appeal of the figure.
The uniform details are again very crisp and well defined such as the collars, pockets, ammo pouches and two grenades around the waist and very well defined binoculars with fabric seams on the trousers and arms as well as realistic fabric folds and the relaxed pose is quite natural.
The alternate heads have a Para helmet with an without cam netting and I also added wire pins to the necks to allow easy swapping of the heads, which is really a personal thing and no reflection of the head fit which is spot on.
The fit of the parts was as usual superb but watch when removing the casting
blocks from the arms so as not to remove too much resin or small gaps could
result but the fit was excellent overall.
I also added small wire pins the wrist to allow easy fitting but again this
is a personal choice with the fit of the arms into the sleeve indentations
being excellent.
Another superbly cast and detailed figure in a natural pose and the alternate heads and left hands add more variety to the figure which should look superb with the natural pose and will look good when painted in the distinctive Wehrmacht splinter pattern cam or alternate cam finish as per the box art figure and as mentioned the figure can be used on its own or in combination with figure 35020 to form a firing team.
Highly recommended
