Alpine Miniatures
Russian Tank Commander
1:35th Figure Set No. 35039
Alpine Miniatures
Figures scupltered by Taesung Harmms
and painted by Ortiz Forns

This figure is a single later war Tank Commander in a relaxed standing pose wearing the tankers leather jacket, gloves and trousers with thigh length boots with pistol holster and map case on his belt. The figure has the usual choice of two heads with excellent facial features and one wearing a Officer's cap and the other a a Russian padded leather tankers helmet.

The full body is cast as one piece with just the heads and arms as separate parts with excellent uniform details including all the pockets, lapels and fabric seams in the right places as well as a nice “bulky” look as the jacket and trousers. The securing strips around the ankles is nicely done as are the trouser fabric seams and convey the feel of the figure very well.

There was virtually no cleanup needed apart from the usual small casting blocks to be removed but take care with the right shoulder join to not take too much resin off the top which can result in a small gap when fitting the arm. Assembly is very straightforward with the fit of the arms being spot on requiring no trimming or filler (note above) while the heads also fit neatly into the collar.

As with previous figures I added a small “wire” pin to the neck to go into a hole drilled into the body but again this is a personal thing to make fitting and swapping the heads easy and not a reflection of the fit which is perfect if you just want to glue the chosen head in place. This also allows the heads to be painted separate and easily attached later.

Conclusion:
Another superb figure depicting a typical Russian tank Officer and used in conjunction with the crewman figure will ad life to any of the available Russian vehicle kits.

Highly recommended
