SS Panzer Commander Kharkov 1943
1/16th Figure Set No. 16014

S&T Products This is a single full figure designed by John Rosengrant and represents a Panzer Commander wearing typical tankers uniform of the period.

The figure is cast in a cream resin and sees the full body and head in one piece with separate arms, officer’s cap and Walther P38 side arm in its holster. There are also two alternate left arms for a bit of variation with one in a more relaxed pose and the other with a bit more animation.

The quality of the casting is superb with good facial features and very well defined uniform details such as the pockets, fabric seams in the trousers and arms and central buttons and realistic fabric folds, there is some casting seams needing removal but these are away from the fabric seams so these are intact after the removal of the casting seams.

The fit of the parts is excellent with the arms having square large lugs and pins to ensure they line up correctly when assembled, some minor trimming of one pin was needed but this was very minor and the only addition required would be the wiring for the neck microphone and head set.

No painting guide is included other than the box top photo of the painted figure but there is plenty of reference available on the subject so this shouldn’t be a problem?

Also included is a base for the figure in the form of a section of Panzer III turret roof which has the front ¼ of the cupola and correct roof details such as the ventilator and flush screw heads, this base measures 64mm (2 ½”) square and is an unusual base that is sure to attract attention.

Overall an excellent figure with superb details included and along with the ease of assembly and base included will look good when completed and could also be used with any of the large scale Panzers available today.
