8.8cm L/71 Ammunition
AFV Club 1:35 Kit No. AF 35086
First Look Review by Terry Ashley

This set of turned brass 8.8cm L/71 ammo is for the German PaK43/41, Nashorn, Jagdpanther, Elefant or Tiger II with the set consisting of twenty four finely machined parts. The quality of the machining is excellent without any surface blemishes resulting in a nice smooth finish with the cartridge cases hollowed out by about 3mm for a good appearance.

There are four types of rounds included which are all separate from the cartridge cases to make painting easy and allowing the cases to be used as spent rounds and all include the base firing cap detail.

The shells feature excellent details such as drive bands and shell contours with the fit of the shell to the cartridge case being very snug and many fit together without the need for glue while some will require a dab of cyanoacrylate to hold in place.

The cartridge cases don’t really need painting apart from so minor weathering to make things even easier.

Conclusion:
A simple yet nicely detailed ammo set with a good variety of ammo types and separate cartridge cases to add additional details to the appropriate kits.

Highly recommended

Note: all shells are separate from the cartridge cases,
four fitted together to show assembled rounds.
