The Set:
Archer Fine Transfers continue to release their useful instrument and placards sheets with these three new releases being for German halftracks, set #AR35295 Sd.Kfz.7, set #AR35296 Sd.Kfz.11/4, and set #AR35297 Sd.Kfz.9. As the sheets are very similar, just for different vehicles we'll look at them together with most comments applicable to the three sets.

Set #AR35295 Sd.Kfz.7 is designed for the Trumpeter Sd.Kfz.7 kit #01514, set #AR35296 Sd.Kfz.11/4 for the AFV Club kit #AF 35051 but could also be used on their other 3ton half track kits and set #AR35297 Sd.Kfz.9 if for the Tamiya Sd.Kfz.9 FAMO kits #35239 and #35246.

The quality of Archer Fine Transfers sheets is well known and these are no exception with clear clean printing and excellent colour register on the dials and placards. The dial number gradients and the text on the placards is clear to add considerable authenticity to the model instrument panel.

Each set includes four of the main dials and additional data placards with sets #AR35296 and #AR35297 also having alternate speedometer dials for the earlier and later dials used on these types and having the four sets per sheet makes the sets excellent value as well as providing spares in case of disasters during application.

The dials are designed to fit into the raised bezels on the kit panels and to aid in the application the sets include a small sheet of "Wet Media paper", this is different from normal clear decal film and is designed to allow you rub on the placard or dial to the paper and you then apply this much the same as wet decals.

This will allow you to precisely align the dials and placards on the kit panel more easily than the one go you would get if applying the transfers directly to the panel in the usual dry transfer manner, a nice touch to avoid disasters.

The Archer dials and placards for each set
also included is a small sheet of "Wet Media paper"
Archer Fine Transfers

The set includes a small instruction sheet that shows the exact location of each data placard and also explains the best method for using the "Wet Media paper" and this shouldn't pose any problems for modeller's with only moderate experience. The instructions also give tips on applying clear epoxy to form the dial glass to give that final detail touch to the kit panel.

Conclusion:
These are excellent and very useful instrument panel sets from Archer Fine Transfers , well printed and easy to use, the sheets offer excellent value with enought for four models on each sheet and will appeal to anyone wanting to add that bit extra to the kit instrument panels.

Highly recommended.

Thanks to Woody of Archers Fine Transfers for the review set
