Balkan
Warriors.
1/35th Decal Sheet BD-35002
Review by Peter Brown
Printed by Microscale, the individual decal items come on their own small
section of backing sheet with a glossy finish. A few small items come on separate
small sections of decal sheet which will need to be cut out before use. Instructions
are in the form of line drawings of the vehicles giving details of colours
and a list of sources used in the design of the decals, a layout of the decals
sheet with code numbers to identify the items for each subject.
Balkan Warriors covers three up-armoured vehicles on peace-keeping duties
in the Balkans.
- Option A is an infantry vehicle of The Light Infantry in Bosnia 1996
with yellow tac signs, large black chevrons and white IFOR stencilling
and a small
Regimental badge on the gun mantlet.
- Option B is a Green Howards infantry vehicle in Bosnia in 1997 also with
yellow tac signs and small white SFOR markings. To produce a green chevron
on the black camouflage background, the marking is provided as a clear
decal with black outline designed to be positioned over the base green
and painted
round with the black scheme.
- Option C is also a Green Howards subject, this time a command vehicle
in Kosovo 1999, serving with KFOR it has an individual vehicle name, white
chevrons
and a blue and white NATO marking for the side of the rear bin.
Small extra sections of decal sheet include bridge class discs and "wide
vehicle" warning strips which have to be cut out separately. Ideal for
your Academy kit or Accurate Armour kits or conversions
Well up to the usual Bison standard, and a good source of markings. My examples
were bought direct from Bison
Decals website.
Highly recommended.
See the Bison
Decals website for full details of this and coming decal sheets.
