Brass rounds and charge casings
The set consists of 12 turned brass shells, 12 sections of brass tube for the charge casings, two etched frets with the casing and shell bases plus two short lengths of brass wire to detail the shell base.
There is no cleanup needed on the turned shells which have excellent details that includes the contours of the fuses and the driving bands around the base of the shell as well as the indentations in the base. The small etched base disc is added inside the indentation and the brass rod cut into 2.5mm lengths and added over the base plate. You have to ensure the rod aligns with the two engraved screw heads on the base plate as you attach the rod, not a big problem.
For the charge casings, the etched bases have an engraved ring on the inside into which you seat the brass casing for a precise and importantly perfectly central fit and the base plates also have engraved detail on the bottom to add to the detail.
It's best to solder the casing and base plate together for the nice strong bond and this can be done by holding the two together with a pair of tweezers and sit a very small piece of rod solder on the inside of the casing (with flux of course) and apply the hot soldering iron to the outside of the casing. The heat will melt the solder on the inside which will run around the base of the casing but make sure you only use a very small amount of solder for this to avoid any overflow.
The set will certainily enhance the ammo racks inside the new 'Grille' and 'Bison' kits from Cyberhobby/Dragon with little effort.
Very highly recommended
