This set of resin replacement track from WWII Productions is for either the Bronco Models H39 (kit #35001) or the Trumpeter series of H38/39 kits.
The set has 260 cleanly cast track links (118-119 per side) with the only cleanup required is some very minor excess resin along the front of the shoe from the casting process which can be removed easily and the odd bit of fine resin film.
Detail on the links is very good despite the small size and includes the usual two small pins and corresponding locating holes for easy assembly.
This is done by simply slipping one link over the locating pin and using a pair of fine tweezers gently “lift” the opposite end of the link over the other pin. It is better to use the “lift” method as there is not a lot of play between the links and just clipping the links together may break off the small pin.
Using the fine tweezers I had no problems assembling the track runs and they articulated very freely after assembly for a very natural appearance.
The assembled track runs fit perfectly around both the Bronco and Trumpeter kit sprockets and most importantly the links sit evenly around the sprocket when viewed from the side. As there is not much clearance between the kits drive sprockets and fenders it is advisable not to glue the respective drive sprockets into place until ready to add the tracks and then fit both at the same time. This also makes fitting full track runs easier as you can fully assemble the runs before attaching to the model.
Conclusion:
A very cleanly cast and detailed set of H38/39 tracks with easy and precise
assembly which can be used on both the Bronco and Trumpeter kits without alterations
making the set very useful to add that extra detail touch to the kits.
Highly recommended.
