The Photo Journal of the Second World War
Issue 6
Ampersand Publishing.
96 pages soft cover.
The Book:
The sixth
in the series continues the same formula of good close-up photos plus wartime
photos. Many of the photos are one to a page which allows the details to
be
clearly seen with the large photos. Each page has brief descriptions at the
bottom of each picture.
Contents of issue 6:
Tigers at the front:
16 pages with 16 large photos of the Tiger in action from early to late model
Tigers, again these photos have good diorama potential. Japanese Ka-Mi Amphibious Tank:
7 pages of wartime photos of this interesting vehicle.Sd.Kfz. 11 Zugkraftwagen 3-ton halftrack:
14 pages again with good wartime photos of the 3-ton in-action. No real close-ups
but good general shots.M20 "Diamond-T" Tank Transporter:
23 pages of wartime photos of the Diamond-T with many of the different
loads it carried, inluding a shot of a captured Panther being "taken away for
questioning". There is also a few good shots of the M9 Trailer.
The next 10 pages have excellent close-up photos of the vehicle and trailer, including a sequence of an M5A1 being loaded on the trailer.
4-ton "Diamond-T" 9B9A Wrecker:
8 pages of wartime photos showing the wrecker in action, followed by 11 pages
of close-up photos of the cab, winch and boom details. The final 5 pages have
shots of the Diamond T cargo truck.
In all another great issue of this series, which are becoming a must have reference series.
