The second modern US figure from Alpine also represents a US Tank Crew member from OIF standing in relaxed pose with one leg crossed and arms at rest.
The figure is cast in the usual light grey resin with just the casting blocks and some minor casting seams on the lower legs to be removed.
The figure wears typical tankers overalls with Interceptor Body Armour and a choice of heads with tankers helmet or Kevlar helmet plus a small microphone for the tankers helmet intercom. Bolt helmets have a pair of sand goggles included and there is also has a small scarf around the neck.
The full body is in one piece with the arms and heads separate which results in the minor casting seams on the insides of the lower legs but makes assembly easier.
Details on the uniform are excellent with well defined fabric folds and features such as fabric seams, pockets and Interceptor Body Armour details. The anatomical features are also well done with excellent facial features as well as well defined details on the head gear.
The microphone on the tankers helmet will require you to dip this in hot water and bend to shape and then cut to fit the helmet, all very simple.
The fit of the arms to the body is excellent with indentations that fit
around the body armour details resulting in a very realistic sit of the arms
and required no filling.
To make fitting and changing the heads easier I add a small wire pin to the
neck and drill as corresponding hole in the body to make fitting easy. This
is a personal thing with the fit of the head to the body being very good
if you just glue this in place after choosing your preferred head.
Conclusion:
Another excellent figure from Alpine Miniatures with well defined details
and precise fit of parts that will appeal to modern figure and armour modellers
as it could be posed in the turret hatch or standing next to a vehicle.
The figure can be used in conjunction with figure 35023 for a two man crew
on its own.
