This figure is a single later war Tank Commander in a relaxed standing pose wearing a late pattern Winter Combat Jacket over 2nd pattern Winter Combat Trousers and a pair of 1944 Shoe Pac with the laces undone adding to the casual pose. He also has a pair of binoculars hanging around his neck and the usual choice of two heads, one with M1 steel helmet and the other the Winter Combat Helmet with folded up side and rear flap.
Embossed on the jacket sleeves are the triangular divisional patch on the left shoulder for your choice of marking and Technician 5th Grade rank insignia on both arms.
The full body is cast as one piece with just the heads and left arm as separate parts with excellent uniform details including all the pockets, zippers and fabric seams in the right places as well as a nice “bulky” look as the Winter Combat Jacket and Trousers are usually worn over the tankers HBT suit.
Anatomical features on the faces and hands are excellent although the splayed right hand does look a little oversized when compared to the left hand and heads.
Assembly is very straightforward with the fit of the arm being spot on requiring no trimming or filler while the heads also fit neatly into the collar. As with previous figures I added a small “wire” pin to the neck to go into a hole drilled into the body but again this is a personal thing to make fitting and swapping the heads easy and not a reflection of the fit which is perfect if you just want to glue the chosen head in place.
Conclusion:
Another simple yet very attractive US Tanker figure from Alpine that
can be posed next to any vehicle or in any other setting.
