The figure is standing in a very relaxed pose with arms in his pockets and for another nice variation also wears the canvas leggings over his boots and has the usual choice of two heads, one wearing the M1 steel helmet and the other a HBT cap.
The full body is cast as one piece and the two heads separate with just very small casting blocks on the bottom of the feet to be removed and from the heads. The block from the M1 helmet needs a little care to ensure a nice smooth finish but other than that it's ready for the choice of head to be fitted.
Detail on the uniform is superb with very well defined fabric seams with items such as the pockets and collars very well done as are the creases on the rain coat and nice facial features for a very natural pose of the figure.
There was one area that I thought needed attention and that was the underside of the rain coat which is cast solid and is quite noticeable between his legs and hollowing this out will improve the appearance of the coat considerably. I first drilled out the resin and then cleaned up the opening with various knife blades taking care to leave enough resin for the legs as well as making the lower edges of the coat nice and thin.
The rain coat seen between the legs before and after alterations
As with previous figures I added a small “wire” pin to the neck to go into a hole drilled into the body but again this is a personal thing to make fitting and swapping the heads easy and not a reflection of the fit which is perfect if you just want to glue the chosen head in place. This also allows the heads to be painted separate and easily attached later.
Conclusion:
This is another excellent figure from Alpine Miniatures with superb details and very easy assembly allowing you concentrate on the painted finish. The relaxed pose with the rain coat makes for an very good variation on the usual tank crewman for one of the better US figures available.
Highly recommended 9/10
