The set has one small etched fret for the fender parts with crisp clean etchings and the usual engraved bending lines to help with the bending processes. As well as the fender sections there are many small bolt/rivet heads to add to the fenders after they are bent to shape. Using any of the available etched bending tools will help and soldering skills will come in handy during assembly.
The etched fenders are a straight replacement for the kit fenders (parts A7, A8) and as well as having the correct profile for the side lip have separate underside join strips between the fender segments and for the hull attachment fillets.
Adding the many bolt heads is made easier with holes in the fenders corresponding to the bolt location and while attaching these will be a little time consuming shouldn't pose any problems using thin cyanoacrylate.
The kit exhaust parts from the Dragon kits are used with the etched fenders and you can use the tools and other details from the kit if not using those from the ABER set #35 167 251/1 Basic set.
The instructions are the usual ABER exploded view drawings which are easy to follow as the assembly sequences here are not that challenging.
Conclusion:
A fairly simple update set for the 251 fenders that will add better
definition to the fenders and also allow you to incorporate realistic damage
if you wish.
Highly recommended.
