The Kit: |
This set is to compliment the AFV Club kit of the leFH18 10.5cm Howitzer released earlier in the year and consists of 246 pieces in light olive drab plastic, plus a decal sheet with stenciling of the rounds and ammo boxes.
The set consists of 36 10.5cm rounds, 36 separate shell cases, 36 wooden containers for the rounds carried in the Sd.Kfz.11 3 ton half track plus 6 wooded ammo boxes and 12 metal single round boxes for a good selection of equipment.
The standard of moulding is excellent with no pin marks, flash or other blemishes to deal with other than the normal cleanup once the parts are removed from the sprues. The decal sheets provides a good selection of stencil data for the 105 rounds as well as the ammo boxes to give them a more authentic look.
The back of the box has the simple assembly instructions as well as painting guide listing the colours needed for the kit.
A simple yet effective accessory set for the leFH18 Howitzer as well as the 3 ton H/T kit.
Highly recommended.

It should be noted that this book features the leFH18/40 which is based on the 7.5cm Pak 40 carriage as well as having a muzzle break fitted and slightly different gun shield from the AFV Club kit. The gun and cradle are basically the same so can be used as a reference for those details. |
