Turret details/assembly
Overall views of assembled turret with additional armour panels added.
The fit of these panels is also very good with only some very minor trimming
of the bevel
angle on the rear joins. See below regarding the front plate spacing.
Note: The barrel has been replaced with the Lionmarc metal 2pdr barrel (set #LM50020)
Also note the incorrect front spaced armour as explained in the text.
The front armour panels from above showing the incorrect spaced front plate.
Comparisons of the kit spaced front armour with images of the actual Mk.IV front
armour which is added flush with the front of the turret.
Note the distance the co-axial MG protrudes from the armour "box" on the
actual Mk.IV with the flush armour compared to that of the kit with the
incorrect spaced armour. Also the different spacing of the side bolts and the lower front
recess which are other indications the armour is not spaced.
Images of the unusual armour on the turret front of the Tank Museum example
note the angled lower corners and the simple opening over the left side
vision port.
