1/35th Dry Transfer Sheet #HX DT05
Review by Terry Ashley
Hard Corps Models
This sheet deals with an often overlooked subject of the Aussie Matilda during the Pacific campaign where the gun tank (with two Pdr gun), close support tank (with three inch gun) and the flame throwing FROG were all used to good effect.

The sheet has markings for four Matilda IIs from the 4th Australian Armoured Brigade with two FROGs of 6 troop 2/1 Aust. Armd. Bde Recci Sqn during the “Oboe 2” landings on Balikpapan, Bornio in July/August 1945, One Matilda CS (close Support) tank of C Sqn., 2/9 Aust. Armd. Reg on Tarakan Island in May 1945 and one Gun Tank of A sqn., 1st Aust. Armd. Regt. during the “Oboe 2” landings on Balikpapan, Bornio in July/August 1945.

The sheet includes the Vehicle numbers, Vehicles names applied to the sides as well as the Arm of Service and Formation signs and stencilling for the fording height markings.

Also included is a sheet of vinyl masks/templates for adding the background to the formation signs and the turret geometric Troop markings so you can apply the correct colour and then add the white dry transfer once the paint is dry.

The instructions are two letter sized pages with ample text descriptions of the markings locations as well as some general info and includes a front and side view drawing of the three Matilda types that further show the location of the markings.

A well printed and easy to use sheet to offer something different for the venerable old Matilda.

See the Hard Corps Models website for full details and ordering.
