The quality of the casting is superb with no blemishes and some very thin “flash” the only cleanup needed apart form the usual casting blocks.
The engine has two pieces, one stunning casting of the engine block which includes all the major components including exhaust manifold, generator and numerous items on the right side including some plumbing. The second piece is for the large air clearer. You need to take care when removing the casting block from the engine due to the many small bits included in the casting
A new radiator is provided with the cooling fan moulded onto the rear side, another excellent piece of casting, although the radiator badge is missing so you will still need the etched badge form the kit.
A new smaller fuel tank is also provided to replace the larger item in the kit; this tank is used on some of other variants of the 3 ton.
Three panels with the ends of 7.5cm rounds are provided to fill in the empty panels in the kit body which should be easy to fit to the kit.
Finally there are two double jerry can racks often carried on the front fenders of Afrika Korps vehicles, the casting of these racks is up to the standard of the rest of the items.
No instructions are provided apart from the small photo on the box top, but most items should be straight forward to fit, although some reference pics will definitely be helpful.
An excellent update set for the already excellent AFV Club kit.
Recommended.
