1:35 Hussar Set #35040
Review by Terry Ashley

ItaleriItaleri

This set of resin wheels for the Italeri Sd.Kfz.232 6 Rad (kits #6433 and #6445) features the early six holed wheel rims with the small hexagonal hub caps on the front and rear wheels.

The set has ten resin wheels (eight rears and two fronts) and one uncovered spare with the more common tread pattern depicted with at least five different tread patterns seen on 6 Rads.

The standard of resin casting is very good with just a small “neck” for the pouring block attachment which leaves a very small scar after cleanup and some minor flash in the most of the rim holes that is easily removed. Take care when removing the flash as there is the valve stem which you don’t want to cut off in the process.

Detail on the wheel rims and hubs is excellent with fine rivets around the inside of the rims and nice hub details with the brake drums included on the inside wheels as well as embossing on the tyre sidewalls.

The duel rear wheels have a ‘hex’ lug and recess on the inside faces for very precise location and this allow you to line up the plug scar easily so this can be positioned at the ground contact well out of sight.

The only minor nit pick is the tread ribs on the shoulder are a little thin when compared to photos but nothing to get excited about with the tread pattern itself is very nicely defined and clear of any blemishes.

Fitting to the Italeri kits is very straightforward without then need for any alterations with the wheels fitting straight onto the kit axles.

Conclusion:
An excellent set of resin wheels for the 6 Rad with clean casting and well defined details on the wheels and hubs. The different rim and hub pattern offers a nice alternative to the kit wheels to give slightly different look to you 6 Rad allowing an earlier vehicle to be represented.

Highly recommended.
