1:35 Hussar Set #35041
Review by Terry Ashley

ItaleriItaleri

This second set of resin wheels for the Italeri Sd.Kfz.232 6 Rad (kits #6433 and #6445) features the later two hole solid dish wheels with the triangular hub caps on the rear wheels.

The set has ten resin wheels  (eight rears and two fronts) and one covered spare with a different tread pattern from the first set with at least five different tread patterns seen on 6 Rads and this being one although it appears less common in wartime photos that other patterns.

The standard of resin casting is again very good with just a small “neck” for the pouring block attachment which leaves a very small scar after cleanup and just some minor flash in the dish holes that is easily removed.

Detail on the wheel rims and hubs is excellent with fine rivets around the inside of the rims and the brake drums included on the inside wheels with embossing on the tyre sidewalls.

The duel rear wheels have a ‘hex’ lug and recess on the inside faces for very precise location and this allow you to line up the plug scar easily so this can be positioned at the ground contact well out of sight.

The front wheel hubs sit quite proud on the actual wheel and there is a little excess resin around the undersides of the resin hub which will need to be carefully removed for a better appearance.

Fitting to the Italeri kits is very straightforward without then need for any alterations with the wheels fitting straight onto the kit axles.

Conclusion:
Another excellent set of resin wheels from Hussar with clean casting and well defined details on the wheels and hubs. The different tread pattern offers a nice alternative to the kit wheels to give slightly different look to you 6 Rad.

Highly recommended.
