The set consists of 12 resin
parts, although looking at the photo on the box top it appears I have at least
one piece missing from my set.
The detail on the pieces is excellent except for a few small air holes on a
couple of the parts. These are very small and can be easily filled without too
much trouble.
Center piece of the set is a really nice engine block which has excellent detail
and is a superb piece of resin casting (see pic below). Added to this is the
big air cleaner on top and other smaller bits.
A new bonnet is provided to show the compartment open. Two alternate engine
firewalls are provided. One has the windscreen frame and the other doesn't.
Both has excellent detail on the firewall.
The instructions are not
very clear and don't help much to assemble the engine, the box top picture does
help abit. To get the best from this kit you will need the excellent Wings
& Wheels Publications book "Steyr
1500A in Detail". It has some really good photos of the engine
as well as other details of the Steyr.
In all a nice detail set and should add a nice touch to either of the Tamiya
Steyr kits.
