Blown and Burnt out Tyres for Jeep
Resicast 1:35 Set 35.261
Review by Terry Ashley

This accessory set from Resicast is for diorama builders which consist of four blown tyres/rims with realistic damage and three rims with burnt tyres and rubber residue.

The wheels as are cleanly cast in grey/green resin with just the casting blocks to be removed and let’s face it any small blemishes will only add to the damaged look of this set. The wheel rims are cast without the hubs which are included separately with three rear and three front wheel hubs allowing the wheels to be used on the front or back as required.

The blown and deflated rubber tyres are very realistic with one wheel (W) having the tyre half off the rim for a very good effect and will add some real animation to the model.

On the fully burnt out rims the casting block doubles as the rubber residue with some still attached to the rims as well as one clean rim which again can be added to any wheel on the model.

As a bonus there is one blown tyre from the UK airborne trailer to use as required as well as a replacement front axle with positionable wheels for the Tamiya Jeep.

The new axle simply replaces the Tamiya kit part B14 after cutting off the drive shaft and as mentioned allows the wheels to be positioned at any angle but the steering is not movable after assembly. This steering set is also sold separately as set #35-238 if you just want this for your jeep build.

Included is a simple instruction sheet showing the section from the Tamiya Jeep kit instructions for the front axle as well as a few photos of the axle and wheels attached to the model to give some ideas of their use.

There are numerous photos of burnt out Jeeps with wheels very similar to those in this set especially taken around Bastone and will add a touch of realism to any diorama.

Highly recommended
