Update Set

No. 1493

This set has 103 crisply cast resin pieces, the casting quality is up to the usual standard. There is the usual excess resin to be removed from the bits before use.
You also get an etched copper sheet with a host of detail bits. These etched parts include head light guards and numerous other small fittings around the interior and exterior of the vehicle.

The resin bits for the interior include a front plate insert which has the driver's foot controls and other small detail, two radios are provided along with personal gear and other bits.
The exterior has replacement front hatches with visor detail added and a selection of tools. A large casting of the bad weather cover is provided for the top of the hull. This covers the entire top opening except for the circle inside the gun ring. If you choose to use this cover you must not use the upper hull parts in the Tamiya kit (parts F26, F28). The instructions don't show this, but it's fairly obvious. Some trimming of the resin cover or kit parts is required, as my sample didn't fit all that well. Also for the first time for many a kit, there are a few small air bubble holes in the cover casting, I only mention this because it's not a common sight in Verlinden resin.
The kit includes the superb M2 .50cal machine gun first seen in update set No.1453. A large selection of personal gear and other accessories finishes off what is another nice update set for the M20.
