Introduction:

Voyager have released this Schurzen detailing set along with PE35160 Basic set which is intended to detail the new Tamiya Jagdtiger kit #35295 or Dragon kits #6351 Porsche Production (Premium edition), #6051 Porsche Production, #6285 Henschel Production, #6050 Henschel Production or #9036 Henschel Late Production.

The Update Set:

The set contains 3 etch frets and 22 resin parts and updates the Schurzen for any of the Dragon Jagdtigers and the new Tamiya Jagdtiger. The resin parts are the spacer blocks for the schurzen to fit onto the hull; this requires that the original parts are removed. I would advise that the schurzen be bent and ready to test fit before adding the spacers so that they can all be test fitted to check they are aligned with the corresponding holes in the schurzen before attaching them.

The front corner piece which fits between the front fender & the first piece of the side schurzen has an alternative part for either Dragon or Tamiya kits so make sure you use the right part here. This part will be the most difficult to bend and I would suggest using the plastic kit part to use as a template; I would also anneal the part under a candle first before bending.

I would recommend using a etched bending tool for the schurzen, this will give a nice clean edge to the schurzen. It is important to notice to which section the overhang of the schurzen plates attaches to, as this is how it attaches on the real vehicle, this will show nicely if missing or damaged sections are shown, a common site on the real vehicle.

Conclusion:

The Voyager set is an excellent addition to the Jagdtiger kits on the market, the fact that brass offers scale thickness and realistic battle damage to the schurzen makes its addition an obvious choice. As the kit mirrors the assembly of the real schurzen I can endorse it readily.

Highly recommended.
