The Set:
Originally released
by KMC, this set has now thankfully been re-released by Warriors. Designed
for the Italeri M109 kit No. 239 or 246, there are 73 finely cast pieces, the
detail on the parts is top shelf stuff, with all hatches having detail on both
sides and the ready round racks in the rear bustle are simple brilliant.
The gun
breech is a kit in itself and is most impressive, with the many pieces occupying
the remaining turret space with seats, M117 telescope and various bits of equipment
around the walls. All the kit hatches are replaced with resin parts including
the rear bustle doors so you show off the inside detail. With all the hatches
open you should be able to see most of the good gear inside. The usual casting
plugs have to be removed, a delicate process on some of the smaller parts. But
with care and patience there shouldn't be any real problems.
