The set contains 12 parts cast in the usual light cream resin without any blemishes and just the usual casting blocks to be removed, but the casting block on the back of the transmission cover need not be removed unless you are using it on a kit with interior.
The largest part of the set is the single piece transmission cover which is nicely cast with the correct pointed contours of this later single piece cover. Details include the underside drain plugs, casting numbers and two towing shackle attachments with separate outer steps seen on some covers and the final drive cover plate on each side of the transmission. The top bolted flange is included in the casting and has crisp well defined bolt details while there is a separate bolted strip to use on the underside transmission/hull join.
Two side fenders are also included to replace the kit items as well as drive sprocket axles for the Tamiya kits plus axle stubs for other brand kits with the two upper bolt strips on each side at the transmission/fender join.
Fitting the cover to Tamiya or Formations hulls is fairly straightforward and test fitting will identify any minor trimming needed while if used on other Sherman kits there may be additional trimming needed. This may include shortening the upper bolted flange or other modifications and as usual test fitting and trimming will determine the best fit.
A small instruction sheet is included with drawings showing the location of the separate parts on the cover with brief notes on fitting to the target kits.
Conclusion:
Overall a nicely cast and detailed transmission cover to provide the later
type adding yet another choice for the Sherman builder and should be welcomed
to go along with the earlier covers already available.
Highly Recommended.
